Day 12 - Singapore to Brunei to Brisbane

One more Indian meal for breakfast before we packed our 50kgs of luggage and made our way to the airport. At check-in time we prayed that we weren't going to be charged an excess for our shopping - and thankfully, they let us through without a word. Thank goodness they didn't weigh my 15kg hand luggage!!

We had to wait three hours in Brunei for our connecting flight home. We've been and seen Brunei now - we don't need to go back! It's the kind of place you embrace as a stopover, and that's about it.

For the flight back to Oz, there were only about 40 people on board the jumbo so we had rows to ourselves - it was great. We landed in Brisbane about 4am and sailed through customs, making it home just after 5am.

To wrap up, Tony and I had a fabulous trip - it felt like we were a million miles away for weeks, not days. The region is exciting and culturally very different to Australia and yet, it is so close and so affordable. We highly recommend it.
