On Friday night we celebrated Tony's birthday with a few of his mates at Garuva Hidden Tranquility in the Valley.
Now, this place is usually nice and peaceful during the week - but on a Friday night after happy hour the place really picks up. I think the sense of isolation you get from being in your own curtained off little area lends itself to rowdy parties - where everyone seems to forget the other dozen or so other little parties going on behind the curtains next to you. We didn't seem to notice the noise until the waitress came and told some members of our group to stop playing the drums with their chopsticks!
We had a great night - from the cheap and tasty cocktails in the bar before dinner, to sitting on floor cushions around a low table eating yummy Asian-style food and finally, singing Happy Birthday to Tony over his surprise sparklers!
Some photos from the night are posted below.
